Walk in the Footsteps of Heroes

Step back in time and follow the path of the courageous soldiers who changed the course of history on June 6, 1944. This unforgettable day trip from Paris takes you to the hallowed grounds of Normandy, where over 150,000 Allied troops stormed the beaches in the largest military operation the world has ever seen.

With an expert guide leading the way, you’ll walk along Omaha Beach, stand atop the cliffs of Pointe du Hoc, and explore German bunkers that still house massive artillery pointing toward England. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of the intense battle fought here and the sacrifices made for freedom.

Retracing The Normandy Invasion

After an early morning departure from Paris (meeting point near the Arc de Triomphe), you’ll travel in a small group of 8 people, enjoying scenic views of the French countryside along the way. Upon arrival in Normandy, you’ll begin your exploration of the Atlantic Wall, a formidable line of German defenses designed to prevent an Allied invasion. Here, you’ll step inside a German gun battery, where enormous cannons remain fixed on their original targets.

Next, you’ll stand on the sands of Omaha Beach, the site of one of the most intense and heroic battles of D-Day. Known as “Bloody Omaha,” this was where thousands of American troops faced relentless enemy fire yet still pushed forward against all odds. Your guide will bring these moments to life, recounting personal stories of bravery, resilience, and sacrifice.

You’ll have free time to explore the exhibits at your own pace.

Following the museum visit, you’ll stop for lunch at a traditional Norman restaurant, where you can sample regional specialties such as grilled meats, fresh salads, and sweet or savory crêpes.

Then, you’ll continue to Pointe du Hoc, one of the most dramatic and strategic sites of the invasion. As you walk across the bomb-scarred landscape, you’ll stand on the edge of the 100-foot cliffs that U.S. Army Rangers heroically scaled under relentless enemy fire. The view over the English Channel from here is breathtaking, but imagining the incredible challenges these soldiers faced makes it even more powerful.

Honoring The Fallen At the American Cemetary

Before heading back to Paris, you’ll pause for a moment of reflection at the American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer. With its rows of 10,000 white crosses overlooking the sea, this solemn site is a deeply moving tribute to those who gave everything for freedom. Your guide will share the stories of heroes like Theodore Roosevelt Jr. and the Niland brothers, whose experiences inspired Saving Private Ryan

As a final touch to your Normandy experience, you’ll enjoy a short visit to a family-run cider house, where you can taste the region’s famous Normandy cider and Calvados. For those who don’t drink alcohol, a delicious local apple juice is available.
