15 Paris Restaurants Every Food Lover Must Try

In this video we put together a compilation of some of our favorite restaurants in Paris, from family-run bistros to fine dining with a view. If you are looking for the best restaurants in Paris for food lovers, whatever your budget, this round-up helps you pick where to book on your next trip.

The bistros and neighborhood spots

  • Au Bougnat, around the corner from Notre Dame: Auvergne-style family cooking, with oeufs en meurette, rillettes, slow-cooked pork cheek and aligot with sausage.
  • Les Arlots, near Gare du Nord: a small neighborhood bistro where everything is made in-house. Book ahead, or arrive right at noon like we did.
  • A café in Montmartre, just down the hill from the Sacré-Cœur, with light, well-grilled dishes.
  • Rotisserie d’Argent, on the edge of the Latin Quarter and affiliated with the Tour d’Argent, for roast poultry by the Seine.
  • Amourette, a bistro by Passy metro with a great terrace, and a homemade-food institution near École Militaire with a daily menu at 19 euros when we filmed.
  • A Bib Gourmand restaurant up the street from Les Invalides, where the value for money was excellent.

Special occasions and views

  • A luxury dinner cruise on the Seine: about 390 euros for two before drinks when we filmed, closer to 450 euros all in.
  • La Perruche, on the rooftop of the Printemps department store, for one of the best views of the Eiffel Tower.
  • Café Marly, facing the Louvre pyramid, which was less touristy than we expected, with delicious food.
  • Le Jules Verne, on the Eiffel Tower: 553 euros for two with drinks when we filmed, and worth it for a birthday, anniversary or honeymoon if you reserve early.

Our tips

Neighborhood bistros fill up with Parisians, so reserve or arrive early. Ask for the house wine by the pichet (a small carafe) to keep the bill down, and save the big-view restaurants for a real celebration. All prices are from when the videos were filmed.
