EES / ETIAS Update for Summer Travel

Planning a Paris trip this summer and worried about the new border systems? In this short EES and ETIAS update, we share what actually happened when we landed at Charles de Gaulle on a Saturday, and where things stand for travelers right now.

What we saw at CDG

EES passport control was not operating when we landed. Colleen went through the regular passport check in minutes. It was quick and easy.

Where things stand

  • EES: it was not running at our passport check when we arrived, so the old process applied.
  • ETIAS: it has been pushed to 2027, with no firm date yet.
  • Both systems are still shifting, so check the latest information close to your departure date.

Have you flown in recently?

We will keep you posted as things change. If you have been through CDG recently, tell us about your experience in the comments on the video. It helps other travelers know what to expect.
