Paris just elected a new mayor and that will mean two things…First, there will be more bikes on

Paris just elected a new mayor, and in this short video we explain what that could mean for your next trip. If you are planning a visit and wondering how to get around or where to stay, the new Paris mayor’s priorities give you some useful hints.

More bikes, more traffic

First, expect more bikes on the streets. That also means more traffic for cars, so plan your time accordingly if you were counting on taxis or a car to get around the city.

Where to stay

Second, the city has declared war on Airbnb, which makes it a riskier choice for your holiday. Our advice: pick a hotel or a professional rental company instead.

• Plan for slower car journeys and build in extra time.
• Choose a hotel or a licensed professional rental rather than an Airbnb.
