We Stayed at the 5-Star Pullman Paris (Here’s What Happened)
In this video we spend a night at the Pullman Paris Tour Eiffel, the big hotel right at the foot of the Eiffel Tower that so many of our viewers book for its balconies. This honest Pullman Paris Tour Eiffel review covers the room, the food, the price and whether that famous view is worth it.
The room and the view
We booked a deluxe room, one step above the cheapest, to be sure of a high floor and a balcony facing the tower. The view really is incredible, and watching the Eiffel Tower sparkle from the balcony at night was magical. The room is large by Paris standards, with a big bathroom, a love seat, a coffee machine, a fridge, French and British plugs and a handy touch screen. It was clean but tired, with some wear on the carpet and tiles, and the décor felt corporate.
What did not work for us
- Arriving felt hectic, more like a Las Vegas resort than Paris, with 435 rooms.
- The balcony was too small to sit side by side, so the breakfast-with-the-tower dream did not happen.
- Dinner at the hotel restaurant was sensible but generic.
- The breakfast buffet was €35 per person when we filmed and tasted like banquet food, though the toast and croissant were decent.
- We never found a Wi-Fi code.
Our verdict
The staff were friendly, and a reception staff member even called to check we were happy. But the room cost €611 in low season when we filmed, and with dinner and breakfast our night came close to €900. Without the tower, we felt it was a €250 to €300 room. We would not recommend it. If you want that close-up view, have a drink at the 10th-floor rooftop bar instead and stay somewhere with more charm.
